Finding beauty in everyday simple living and a handmade home.

Welcome to The Valley Farmhouse where I share our simple lifestyle, all things homemade, from scratch cooking and so much more.
My husband and I bought a ranch style home that is around 40 years old and definitely a fixer upper. We are slowly making this our dream home living a simple and sustainable life with our two children.
I have always craved a homestead kind of life, raising children outdoors instead of in front of screens and a fast-paced world, chasing after backyard chickens and carefully preserving homegrown produce like my great-grandparents did.
About Me
I was born and raised a small-town girl in Southeastern North Carolina. I have visited several big cities and they have never appealed to me. Slow simple living and soaking up all the precious moments life has to offer is what I’m after. I am continuing to learn so much about how our ancestors lived and it is fascinating to me how they thrived off the land and with none of the other “extras” we have today.
I am interested in the natural health benefits that organic food and products can offer us as well. Having a strong family history of cancer, I am dedicated to making my life as healthy as I can for my family and myself.
On any given day you’ll find me in the kitchen, running after children and loving my family. I hope you tag along and find this life as joyful as I have. Thanks for sticking around to learn more about a simple life and a handmade home.
Love always,
Madison
