These homemade Valentine’s Day candies are going to be a new family favorite to make and share. You won’t feel bad giving them to your loved ones. The ingredients are very few and clean!
What You’ll Need for Valentine Candy
- A bowl for mixing
- Measuring cups
- measuring spoons
- Almond flour
- Pure Maple syrup
- Natural Peanut Butter (only salt and peanuts)
- Coconut oil
- Mold for shape or you can hand shape them
- No sugar added chocolate chips (we like Lily’s or any no sugar added chocolate)
- toppings (sprinkles, crushed pretzels, dried strawberries)
After you’ve gathered your ingredients and supplies for your homemade candy you can get mixing!
To start you will measure out three-fourths cup of the almond flour and place into your mixing bowl. Next, add one-half cups of peanut butter. Then two tablespoons of pure maple syrup.
Make a solid piece of peanut butter by mixing everything well.
Now comes the fun part! You can shape them into the shape you want them. *This is a good time to get your children involved.
Once the homemade candy is shaped, the way you want them you will pop them in the freezer for about 10 to 15 minutes. While you’re waiting on your homemade candy to harden, go ahead and melt your chocolate.
The Easy Way to Melt Your Chocolate
The secret to easy, melted chocolate for homemade candy is adding about a teaspoon of coconut oil into the chocolate chips. I pop them in the microwave for a few minutes. Once they are soft, I stir together and it’s so easy to dip, spread or cover something with this method.
Remove your homemade candy from the freezer and cover them with the melted chocolate. I like to use a dinner fork to do this.
The homemade candy was a hit in our house and I know it will be in your home too. Let me know in the comments if you try the recipe and what you and your family think.
